Ibiza 2012 Rumours

2012 has barely started and already the Ibiza rumour mill is at full strength with daily rumours popping up all over the internet and in the island of which nights will be returning in 2012, what new venues will be popping up and much more, Here’s our take on it all.

1) Tiesto to leave Privilege and take over Swedish House Mafia’s Monday night at Pacha spot.
This is probably the biggest rumour currently circulating and seemingly more likely by the day. Tiesto can certainly draw the crowds needed to continue in the success of Mondays at PachaPacha. Will he miss the huge expanse of Privilege, and further more will the Swedes be taking his place, will they be continuing at Ushuaia or will they be leaving their Ibiza residency completely?

2) Ibiza’s new venues for 2012.
We’ve already confirmed that Ocean Club Ibiza will be opening this year. This open air club in San Antonio will be run by the chaps behind Linekers and opening in time for the summer season. Pacha has also been rumoured to be building a new hotel with an open air arena near their club (source: @IbizaClubnews Twitter).

3) What new nights are there in 2012?
Probably not many as 2011 was incredibly successful. There’s a new night at Eden called Ibiza Live which is run by the same people as Clubland was, which is rumoured to be moving to Play2. There’s a second-weekly event at Ibiza Rocks which is said to feature more EDM / DJs. Full on Ferry is rumoured to be leaving Sankeys and moving to a San Antonio club.

4) So what’s actually been confirmed?
Not much unfortunately. We can confirm that Cream is returning to Amnesia. Defected, F*** me I’m Famous and Cadenza return to Pacha. We Love and Armin Van Buuren return to Space. Ibiza Rocks Afterparty continues at Es Paradis (We’re unsure if this is now twice weekly or only on Wednesdays). Judge Jules, although leaving Radio 1 will still be running Judgement Sundays at Eden with Ibiza Live. Pukka Up and the Zoo Project are going to be back for 2012 and we’ve also confirmed opening parties for Ibiza Rocks, Space, DC10, Sankeys and Es Paradis.

5) The Ibiza Festival
Said to take place over 3 days in the area behind Mambos in San Antonio, this festival would be a new addition in 2012 and be in June/July of this year. We’ve got no official announcement and rumour is that Pacha’s behind it – but we shall see!
